Kevin Gould grew a love for the sport of lacrosse when he was in 6th grade. At the time, Gould and close friend Max Quinzani went to a high school lacrosse game. Quinzani brought two sticks one for Gould and himself as they played catch the whole game. From this point on Gould knew he wanted to play lacrosse. “I remember, going to Quinzani’s house after school throwing, catching and shooting on his net. He was the only one who had a net in the whole town” Having the knowledge of a soccer player, the swing of a golfer, and the hand eye coordination of a hockey player Gould, thought it was a good time to quit baseball and use all of his attributes from the different sports he played, to become a lacrosse player.

“High school was the best time of my life.”  During his freshman year, he was coached by Burke Walker, who started the lacrosse program in Duxbury. “He was the man.” Gould’s first season on freshman team went 11-0 and the varsity program went 25-0, which they went on to win the State Championship. Sophomore year was Gould’s first appearance on the varsity team, but did not see much playing time, but was proud of himself for working hard and making the varsity roster. “This year we went to the state championship but lost. We were 23-2.” Best friends Alec Siefert (Ithaca) and Max Quinzani (Duke), along with Gould made up the starting attack for the Duxbury team Gould’s junior year. This 22-1 team won the state championship in their third appearance for the state title in lacrosse.

“We only lost one game our senior year, and we won the state championship 15-8.” While excelling in lacrosse Gould was still unsure whether or not he wanted take on college being a hockey or lacrosse athlete. After graduating Duxbury high school, Gould Attended Phillip Andover Academy, as a post graduate. After completing both seasons in both hockey and lacrosse, Gould decided and committed to playing lacrosse at Bentley University. “I was on my spring break when I was in Florida, when I finally made my decision.”

Making the transition from high school to college, Gould knew that he had to work on two things. One was only to switch his focus to one sport - that being lacrosse. He no longer had golf, hockey and lacrosse, one season after another. The second thing was to pick out his opponents’ top defender, which he likes to pick apart each game.  “In high school I was able to play with Max Quinzani who always drew the team’s best defenseman and most of the opposing teams’ attention.”

Some goals that Gould and the rest of his team share are making sure everyone has the mindset of a hard worker, making sure everyone is healthy, and keeping up the hard work in the offseason.  ”We graduated eleven seniors, which has been the largest class I have ever seen, at my years at Bentley.” Gould believes that you always want to be better than the year before!

Excited for the fall, the Falcons ended their season 9-4 to Merrimack in the semifinal matchup at Merrimack - the same team who knocked the Falcons out last season quarterfinals.
